Community Solar

Community solar is a solar energy model in which a single, shared solar generation facility serves multiple electricity customers, who subscribe to or hold a defined share of the project and receive electricity bill credits proportional to their share of the facility’s output, regardless of whether the facility is located on their property.

We have conducted extensive research on the implementation of the community solar model in British Columbia and have provided expert testimony and technical analysis in proceedings before the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) concerning BC Hydro’s proposed community generation rate.
