A five-year land occupation licence was now being issued by FLNRO to Node Engineering for the purpose of investigating the opportunity to develop a 15 MW solar farm on the site.

It should be noted that one of the document indicates two important aspects on the process (environment and 1st nation).
The Investigative Licence is needed to determine if a solar power projects is feasible. The environmental and socio-economic viability of the proposed project needs to be assessed. The proposal is consistent with government policy. No significant impacts to the environment have been identified for the investigative phase. No significant impacts to aboriginal interests have been identified for the investigative phase.
